Power of Association and Influence ( Part 2 )
“ Birds of a feather flock together. The rich associate with successful people; the poor often associate with unsuccessful people . If you wan to fly with the eagles, you will have to stop swimming with the ducks.” ….T.Harv. Eker
Power of Association and Influence
The people you hang around and associate with on a consistent basis is very important to your success. When it comes to wealth attraction, what is their income? See, if you want to earn $50,000 a year, and if you are hanging around with people who are earning around $20,000, you cannot earn $50,000 because you are getting mentally $20,000 ideas and lessons from them.
If you are earning $50,000 a year, and you want to earn $100,000 a year , you cannot continue on a consistent basis hanging around people who are earning $50,000.
You have to hang around people who are making and earning around $100,000. If you are making $100,000 and you want to make $1,000,000, let me tell you something; there is a big difference between making 6 figures income and 7 figures income. You got to think differently. You got to start hanging around and learning from people who are making and earning 7 figures because they blaze the trails. They know how to get it done. You just need to follow their proven strategies. But make sure that the people you follow are successful in their respective fields.
And when I say hang around people who are making 7 figures, you don’t need to personally know a person who is a millionaire or multi-millionaire or even a billionaire. You don’t have to !
You can go to the bookstore and invest $20 in a book or CD and you can learn from people who are making 7 figures or attend seminars and workshop to improve yourself. At times, the learning is absolutely free. You can find great free valuable resource from the internet and learn from watching videos and reading articles.
However, there is a price to pay and that price is your time, effort and energy that you devote in learning the skills to be successful.
The best investment one can make is to INVEST IN YOURSELF. This means your education, which is never lost, then APPLY and TAKE ACTION on what you learn to make yourself a valuable resource to your ownself and to others. Always remember: it’s not What you learn and know…. It’s what you DO with what you know that matters.
I recently came across a saying which I thought was profound and would like to share with you. Its simple and it goes like this….
“ To achieve something that you never achieve before, you have to be good at something that you were never good before. To be good at something you were not good before, you need to develop the skills that you never had before…..” So the question is how do you develop those skills ?
The answer is simple. Invest in yourself. Learn and grow yourself. Associate with people that elevates your and find mentors and mastermind team who support your dreams, goals and aspirations. Learn how successful people think, learn how they act , learn what their habits are.
Our Environment and the Power of Association and Influence
There are times when we wake up, we realize we are not getting ahead with what we want to do with our lives. We are struggling with our careers, our job and constantly worrying about our personal finances with too many days left at the end of the money.
One of the reasons that we find ourselves in that predication, is that we may not be consciously aware of, is the environment and the people we find ourselves with everyday. What’s polluting our lives, what’s polluting our minds, our hearts, our soul and our spirit?
In that case, we may just need to cleanse and get rid of the stuff that’s polluting us. We are conditioned by our environment. And sometimes that means that we need to break out from the environment that is preventing us from getting what we want.
We need to change the environment that we are in and maybe also the people that we are choosing to hang around with.
You know, the late Jim Rohn has a famous quote, one of the best philosopher that I have learned so much from him. He says statistically, your income will become the average of the five people that you choose to hang around most. So the question that I want to ask you is that, who are you choosing to be associated with the most, on a daily basis? One of the key principles for success is association.
He has 3 questions about association that you should consistently ask yourself.
- Who am I around? You’ve got to evaluate everybody who is able to influence you in any way.
- What are they doing to me? That’s a major question to ask. What have they got me doing, listening to, reading, thinking and feeling? You’ve got to make a serious study of how others are influencing you, both negatively and positively.
- Is that okay? Maybe everyone you associate with has been a positive, energizing influence. Then again, maybe there are some bad apples in the bunch. Everything is worth a second look, especially the power of influence. Both will take you somewhere, but only one will take you in the direction you need to go.
Wow! Simple and yet very profound questions that we need to ask ourselves.
For me, to grow myself, I tried to associate with positive minded people who are always caring, giving, loving and supportive of my dreams, goals and aspirations. Find mentors who are already successful and model how they think, what they do and follow their proven strategies of success and wealth creation.
One of my mentors, is Robert G.Allen, one of America’s most famous and influential financial advisors, author of 10 bestselling books on creating wealth and achieving financial freedom. So for me, to become the best, then I want to learn from the very best in the field of personal development and wealth creation and to be PERSONALLY mentored by the master himself and to be part of his EXPONENTIAL 100 group of enlightened entrepreneurs.
The late Jim Rohn is another excellent person to model from. Read their books, listen to their CD-ROMs and advice and follow what they ask you to do.
It was from one of Jim Rohn’s advice that I heard from his audio tapes, that has transform my life.
It was a book that was recommended by him, “ The Richest Man in Babylon “, a simple book that if you read it carefully and understand the principles and implement in your life, it will guide you towards financial freedom. to this day, I still remember vividly his advice……… Read the rest of this entry »
Personal Self-Development – All You Can Do is All You Can Do and Do the Best You Can !
Personal Self-Development – All You Can Do is All You Can Do and Do the Best You Can !
“ Be the most you can; the essence of life is growth “ … Jim Rohn
I once heard a profound speech by self-made billionaire, Art Williams, about his management philosophy developed over 19 years in one sentence that truly stuck with me. And the nine words sentence that will make you wealthy and successful, he said, went something like this:
“ All You Can Do is All You Can Do “.
“ All you can do is all you can do. There ain’t nothing more than all you can do. That is the absolute maximum. You can do no more than all you can do. All you can do is all you can do. All you can do is everything. All you can do is all you can do but all you can do is enough. “ What a profound statement!
Now, what if you would combine this statement with “ Do the Best You Can “ from the renowned personal development expert who is one of my mentors, the late Jim Rohn, you get a really, really profound statement that if you adopt it as your personal development philosophy, and make it your daily habitual doing, I think it will bring you personal success and financial wealth and good life in all areas of your life.
All you can do is do the best that all you can do ! If you begin to do what you can do where you are and you do ALL you can do where you are and If you do the best that all you can do, in every personal or business transactions and if you do every act the best you can in an efficient way, I think you will be successful. Every act that you do, in itself is either a success or a failure. Every act you do, in itself is either effective and efficient or ineffective or inefficient. Every efficient act is a success. Every inefficient act is a failure. If you do the best you can, and do every act in your life as efficient as possible, you life will be a success. But if you are not doing the best that you can, and if you spend your life doing inefficient acts, your life will be a failure.
Therefore, do, everyday, all that you can do that day, and do the very best that you can and do each act in a efficient manner.
I am practicing this philosophy and making it my daily habitually doing, to do and become all that we possible can.
As my passion is about personal development, Love People – Help People – Teach People, I just have to share this inspiring video clip by Jim Rohn, with my readers , Do The Best You Can, which I think will inspire everyone to success. It is so powerful and if you follow his advise, and do all you can do is doing the best you can, you will develop yourself into a successful person and live life to the fullest.
